01.15.13: Things that I love doing with you

Some people think it’s silly that I like doing things that are out of the norm. The stuff that they expect me not to do, are most likely to be the things that I would be happy about. If there’s one thing that I would hate when I look back at my life, I would hate to realize that my life has been nothing but a routine. I hate doing the same thing over and over and over again (I hate saying over 3 times but I did it anyway just to express how much I dislike having a routinized life). I do not enjoy going to the same restaurant in 3 months. I just need to be out there, and go place. That’s part of who I am. I walk, I look, I observe — I’m a traveler. I love how my life is different. How I can go with the flow of my own wave, how I have my own wave. And most of all, I love how God blessed me with a very blissful extraordinary life. A life that I am always grateful for. So yeah, that’s me getting caught up about life. Once I start talking about it, I just can’t stop. I JUST LOVE IT!

Spent the first half of our afternoon downtown. Federal Hill brings joy to my eyes. It never fails to make me feel like I am somewhere in NYC. Weird but hyeaaah, that’s me. Haha

Since we do not have any plans for the day, and all I know is we are going to the dentist I’ve decided to wear something comfy and simple. Jeans and a white tank top! 🙂

DSCN7126

I chose the colors tan and brown to give accent to the world’s simplest but still stylish pair.

11.30.12: Birthday Treat

Last birthday post: Went to Westfield Mall to treat myself. I don’t want my birthday week to just come and go because my family was not here. It sucks that my parents were not with me to give me a birthday hug nor my siblings to be surprisingly kind to me (lol). what sucks more is that, my grandmother is the one who greets me first during my birthday for 21 years. And now, everything just drastically changed in a matter of 9 months. No one can truly understand how it feels like, to be away, to leave and to miss out a full year. So much for my sappy words, so yeah.. just 3 more months.

Loaded baked potato (YUM) and Grilled Chicken with Provolone wrap! Happy Tummy!

11.29.12: Happy Birthday

This post has transpired almost a month ago. I know, I know.. I haven’t exactly been what I was supposed to be for the past few weeks. I even feel like I am still not myself up to this date. I will try my best to refresh my memory and share the itsy bitsy details about my birthday 🙂

IMG_1433

I was scheduled to work from 9-5 that day. Someone made an extra effort in making my morning extra beautiful by giving me a bouquet of peach long-stemmed roses while having the mushroom soup that he made 🙂 Way to jump start my birthday 🙂

My morning before work became extra beautiful when I talked to my whole family. Who still celebrated my birthday. Thanks to my Mom who cooked yummy food 🙂 Can’t wait to try them all once I get back! 🙂

I thought we were just going to have dinner at their house (which would still be perfect) but his family once again surprised me 🙂 His Dad decided to take us to Petit Louis, once of the best restaurants in this state if I may say 🙂 A lovely fine dining restaurant that definitely made me feel special 🙂

My birthday was not the same without my family around. But God turned around things for me still and made me feel special in a very beautiful way. I will always be grateful to everyone who took an effort in making sure that I am extra happy on my special day, especially his family 🙂

Thank you Lord for another blessed year! ❤ 🙂

11.04.12: Another dream crossed off my list

I can’t help but laugh at myself for typing such a silly blog title, but that’s how I am…silly. I am still hyped about the recent direction that I stepped into. It’s another stage full of joy, wisdom and a hint of loneliness. It still seems like a dream to me, but all I know is I am really really really overwhelmed and grateful to the Big Guy up there for His never ending love and blessings. Also, to my family most especially to my Dad for supporting me in every decision and goals. My heart is pouring out of love and happiness, I still can’t believe it. I have yet reached a juncture where in life has unfolded something beautiful for me..something that answered my questions and something to look forward to. That’s what I love about planning, it gives you excitement and a vision of what awaits you. To my life next year (or should I say the next 2 and a half years), I can’t wait to be a better version of me. To my future life, you’ll get where you want to be soon – without loneliness and with your family 🙂

Meet Jiro Ono.

A great sishi Chef that inspired not only me, but everyone else who has watched his documentary. Hence, my blog title. Sushi may be a simple food to some, but he gave more life into it. He expressed more out of it and that’s what made me fall in love with the documentary. Everything about the documentary is still fresh in my memory, it’s just too beautiful and invigorating that it made me realize how fortunate I am to love what I do and to have the passion in what I do.

You must dedicate your life in mastering your skill . That’s the secret to success and is the key to being regarded honorably” – Jiro Ono

Silly me

School x Shopping Day

Went to Virginia and visited my future 🙂

Had lunch in this awesome awesome awesome (did I say) AWESOME place in Tyson’s corner!

Wasabi – rotating sushi in the middle of the mall!

Say hello to the sushis that we ate!!! They were all so yummy!! I have no words but NOMNOMNOM!

Finished 3 packs of this yummy Japanese peanuts!

My favorite! Such a shame that I forgot the name! (But I’m going back so…) I devoured myself with this baby!! Reminded me of Teriyaki Boy’s Philadephia Roll!! Only that this has my favorite – shrimp!

Eel Sushi –  Top 2 on my list! Definitely one of the bests that they have!! This was so yummy that it took me straight the sushi land!!!

Mango Mousse – super creamy and not too sweet. MY kind of dessert! 🙂

$75 lunch was soooo worth it!

Must try this next time!

Come to Mama! 😛

Went for a comfy and simple look for my awesome day in Virginia! 🙂 It was bright and sunny that day despite of the the cold breeze of air. I wanted to resemble someone that is bright and full of life so I picked the color yellow. Also for good luck, both of my parents love yellow – and it worked! 🙂 It’s as if they were with me while I was talking to the admins. 🙂

10.08.12: Celebrating Mom’s Birthday

Something that transpired last week made me realize how eager I want to some things to just work out and make everything that I have been aspiring for happen in God’s time. Knowing that I have been missing a lot of joyful moment is really pulling me down in a sad pit. Missing my family’s birthdays is one thing, but not being there on that special someone’s birthday is a different story..knowing that we are just in the same place at the same time and the same same same..I don’t know. It just really devastates me. And I hope there is still another year for us to celebrate..but all is left uncertain until the end of the year..maybe.

Anywaysy, God has turned around everything and blessed me with a beautiful Monday off to celebrate two birthdays in a lovely place at an awesome event! If there’s one thing that my Mom and I likes to do..it is to attend events that are related to shopping and food. So this was a perfect way for me to celebrate her birthday! 🙂

Monday off in Washington, DC! 🙂

Got super excited when I saw these food trucks!!

Some of the foods that we tried:

Spicy Beef x Vegetable Curry Patty

Tastes better with the jalapeno salsa! 🙂

Chicken Banh Mi!!

YUM

Bought an authentic jamaican patty from a JAMAICAN!!! Whuut

Best beef patty I’ve ever tried! ❤

Our favorite food truck 🙂

Because of this witty and kind American owner and his Fil-Aussie wife (who is very pretty)

..and of course because of this yummy lamb sausage!

My brother Remo will go crazy about their cookies!!!!

Gooey goodness inside!!! These cookies were AMAZING!!!!

Lamb taco..YUM!

Had thai food) no photos..there were a lot of thai food stalls!! Most people seems to be crazy about their food these days…

It was a super duper cold day for me! Went to Barnes and Noble to warm up for a bit and then headed to H&M and F21 to go shopping! This is why I love DC. It’s like my mini New York, only that it’s not crowded 🙂
