Sugar, spice, and a pinch of GLAM

Hello dolls!! 🙂 Today marks my first month here in Baltimore, and I can’t believe that it has already been a month!!! It definitely feels longer than that cause I have been productive everyday (or at least I try lol) I couldn’t think of anything better to write about than the beautiful memories that I have with my family before I left. As you all know I suck at keeping up with my time when it comes to updating this blog,  cause mainly I like to appreciate every moment, take all the feelings, and find the right time before I post them here (cause I am just this sentimental). So anyway, my first month here has been nothing but AHHMAHHZING! I wouldn’t have it any other way, the love that my family here shows me and the people I am surrounded with that makes each day bearable are just some of the few reasons why I can still update this blog.

It is happening NOW.

Though we are miles and miles away from each other, my family is still my source of strength and the greatest motivation I have in being better and stronger. I can’t wait to be with them again and show how much I’ve grown since I left!!!

One of our “go to” restaurants in Manila is Banana Leaf.  Part of the experience when dining in BL is eating on a..banana leaf.

Below are the usual dishes that we order… my photos does not give justice to the delicious food that we always have when in BL!!

a) Bagoong Fried Rice — I always hear this calling my name. But since my fatty days are over, I have to settle with less. No more finishing 3 cups of bagoong rice for me!!

b) Mee Goreng – Takes me back to Singapore every time!!!! OMMMMG I need this now!

c) Vietnamese Prawn Ball with Cheese — who doesn’t love cheese???

d) Deep Fried Pandan Chicken – We’ve had better…but we still order it anyways! haha

a & b) Thai Green Curry with Eggplant and Basil x Malayan Chicken Curry — OMGGGG both are tooo good!!! YUMMS!!

c) Stir Fried Chinese Kangkong with Sambal – everyone’s favorite!!! I can go to Banana Leaf and just order 4 things — this, thai chicken curry, mee goreng, ANDDDD..

d) ROTI!!! need I say more?  I don’t know where to go for some good roti fix so I am planning to do my own soon!

a) Tilapia Filet with Malayan Cream Sauce – deep fried to perfection!!

b)  Stir Fried Prawns in Malayan curry — Cause curry is good… curry is delicious… or at least Thair/Malayan curry for that matter.

c) Grilled Squid – how can we not order grilled squid?? It’s too delicious!!!

d) Stir Fried Clams in Singaporean Chili Sauce – one of the reasons why we keep on coming back to Banana Leaf!!!

One of the best things about going to Banana Leaf? I get to spend some wee time in my favorite grocery i the Philippines! MARKET PLACE!!

Fact: My sister and I tries to match our clothes whenever we go out. My parents used to dress us up with matching outfits since she was born!!! Though we didn’t look like twins before (cause I was on the chunky side and she was grumpy lol).
