Pink Tree

As promised, here’s another post…and I am thinking that maybe I can stretch this weekend and post another one before the most amazing Tuesday of my life happens 🙂

So this is how my desktop looks like as of today. I like to “organize” each folder according to my insanity’s liking. There are is only one thing that I can think of, as of now,that can win over my OCD. And that is my desktop. So before I get gaga over sorting photos for the next 3 weeks, I want to make room (literally).

I am crazy over anything by Kinder. Almost 10 years ago, I stopped by 7/11 in Hong Kong and decided to buy “dinner” for myself. Back at that time, anything unpleasant smelling would set me off so I settled for the good stuff…..chocolates! Haha

For a week I would have Kinder Bueno with every meal! It was crazy love that I decided to marry Kinder….forever.

I do not really like wearing pants, I want the feeling of being feminine when I go out. But in the States, it’s either that,leggings, or…..suffer from the cold weather!

Pancit x Steamed Fish!! I can’t wait to cook with the person that I love to cook with soon!!!!! We’ve had some great memories inside the kitchen and I can’t wait to have more!! ❤ 🙂

P.S. It was my first time to cook pancit,, and weird as it may sound but he is so crazy about it! Which makes me do a silly face every time! And I am so happy to say that he liked it! Yay 🙂

I love pasta!! If I can eat it without getting fat I will have it everyday!!! I am so fortunate to have a boyfriend that can cook really good pasta….and allows me to smother my pastawith cheese (even if he hates it when I do it on seafood)

Roasted Pork Fried Rice with Bacon that I made for him before he went to work!! Irony of life…I am an Asian but I will choose pasta or Greek food over Chinese Food…While on the other hand, he will die for Chinese food anytime of the day!!!

Been there, done that.

July 2013:  Une

Hello, stranger! 🙂 Here’s another post that will either make you wonder what the H I’m talking about, or satisfy your curious mind of what has been up in my not-so-interesting-life”.  Before I get too caught up with the awesome heaps that will happen in the next couple of days, I would like to post at least 2 blogs (crossing my fingers like a little girl). I am at my last stretch of waiting for the most amazing 3 weeks ever in my life to happen and I can not express how excited I am to be with love physically…to be able to see love right before my eyes and not behind the screen..and to act with love just like how it all started. The waiting has been excruciating and all, but despite of the loneliness, I have come to appreciate life more and take credit of the little things that came my way.

I am not perfect, and I will never be. One of the things that makes me sad about reality is the fact that…there’s too much drama here in Manila. In ways that I can’t fully narrate, I just feel like this place connives with the people who has nothing good to say or think about me. As pitiful as it may seem, I have learned how to step up for myself and be mature about everything. Years before, when I was “you and naive”, I would let anything negative get through me. It wasn’t the smartest idea of all as it caused my self esteem to be as low as a zero. There are things that life taught me, but one of the things that I am really grateful for is how it taught me to be a daughter that knows how to listen. Being 22 and obsessed with life made me realize that I should be grateful to my parents for teaching me how to be a lady at all times. No matter what the situation is, whether it is pleasing or not, handle it like a lady.

“Been there, and I am sooooo done with that”. What I usually tell myself when I see “OMG..seriously??….You must be kidding me…*sigh*” worthy posts from “teens” these days. Let me tell you that, I treat each eyebrow raising post like it’s a cat…with 9 lives…you get a chance to prove me wrong until you massacre every piece of understanding in my body. It saddens me, how easily it is for some to just act like they can truly apprehend the meaning of #YOLO. Seriously, YOLO happened, fine, we get it, but the essence of “living once” is not to abuse the word living by doing all these crazy and senseless stuff just so you can hastag the word YOLO. Anyway, dear reader, what I am really trying to say is….there is always those moments in our lives where in we look back and appraise how we were during a certain time.And I have pinched myself countless times every time I realize the things that I should not have done. If you are young and has many years ahead of you…..do not let yourself be a victim of your own character. Whatever you do, try not to cause pain to others, big or small..it matters.

Dear Burger Ave,

the next time you serve me a “healthy” burger please make sure that it is at least “appealing”. It’s like the guy behind the chopping board just decided to tear a couple of pieces of lettuce..put it on my plate and make it seem like it blossomed with a “not-even-a-half-inch-patty”.

The lack of ingredients on our salad has made me forget all the possible things that I can say about this.

It wasn’t the first time that we ordered this…and I remember it as a “big bowl of salad” just like what the menu says…but maybe things changed, but the prices didn’t. Oh weeeell.

6.16.13: Happy Father’s Day

I wish I took more photos. I wish I took more photos. I wish I wasn’t shy enough.

My silly self is telling me that I should have taken photos of everything that I did in the kitchen – last week, last year, the past 2 years. Everything, you know. I should have documented them in a pretty way like the photos below. But no, I was too annoyingly shy to take out my phone and take photos. (And by this time I am constantly #SMH). Anyway, looking at the bright side, I have a lifetime to take photos, and work on my shyness. Gaaah I know this is gazillion weeks overdue but with the way this blog rolls, time has never been a good friend of mine – in any way. DSCN8210

So for Father’s Day, my sister and I decided to do something special for the man that loves us unconditionally.

I know a lot of you can speak in behalf when I say, it’s hard to buy a present for a person who has everything that he needs.

But lucky for me, my Dad is the most appreciative person that I know.He values every little thing like it’s a gem.

Having a father who is always up for an adventure when it comes to food is like having a reward when you’re someone who works in the kitchen.

since it was a Sunday, a beautiful one for that matter, I’ve decided to do something that I enjoy doing for brunch at work….Eggs Benedict.

So with the help of my (not so) little Sister, we were able to surprise my Dad with a beautiful looking plate for brunch 🙂

I think Eggs Benedict is such an eye-candy in photos. It’s more photogenic than me. 

P.S. I wish I had something green and small (like chives or parsley at least) to put on top.But I am now in the land of “it’s-hard-to-find-fresh-herbs-here”

Solitude

03.25.13: Seasons of L-O-V-E

I’ve always wondered how it’ll be like to experience seasons change. To have different sets of clothing 4 times in a year, and see leaves change from green to yellow. Two seasons has passed and I am just about to share to you how spring went by too quickly for me this year. I have lived two separate lives in the past 2 years, and both are wrapped in solitude. Despite of all the things that I’ve accomplished, and all my loved ones surrounding me, how do I get out from this labyrinth if the antagonists are the thoughts in my head?

Drifting away from the road of being sappy, I try to be on the positive side of life and feed my crazy cells with anything that my sanity can get a hold of. Vague,yes. That’s what you get if you watch 3 movies in a row and put yourself to sleep with different tvShows that makes you more…gaga over life and life. The questions in my head that I am trying to deal with are comparable to the things that I am still trying to figure out with the programs that I follow. “So why is Miranda Bailey’s husband in The Mistresses, is he coming back to GA?” “Okay…I love 2 broke girls, but there’s something bothering me about it….Caroline’s ignorance or Max’s bold attitude?”….”but wait, all I really care about are the cupcakes!” “The only reason why I watch this show is because of Remi (Devious Maids).

Fresh herbs: Mint and Sage

Having a Chef as partner can be a curse for someone who has a different passion. But for us, it is a blessing. Having someone who loves and does the same thing that I do makes me feel like I won the lottery every single day. It’s always an adventure in the kitchen for the both of us 🙂

Another Greek dinner for us! Work free days like this becomes more special when you spend it with great food and the people that you love. No day off is wasted with an amazing dinner at home.

Made lamb burgers. The most amazing lamb burger that I’ve ever had!!!!

One of the most awesome things that we did at work. This recipe was from a Chef that I truly admire and look up to. I am still in awe every time I think about the dinner services that we had and that “it’s easy if you just try” moments.

Lamb Burger with romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, saffron aioli, manchego cheese on a ciabatta bread. BOOM (yes I just said boom like I just said  a “yo! mama”  joke).

God knows how long it has been since I had a scoop of ice cream.(Disclaimer: I prefer gelato or froyo) But this beauty is just too irresistible that I had to give in! Who wouldn’t? Especially when its prepared by the love of your life’s Mom! ❤
