New Jersey: Smithville x The Historic Smithville Inn

10.20.12: Meet,Greet and Eat

Hello world! I know my page has been idle for a long time, and I am not sure what pushed me to this plight – the fact that I do not have enough time for everything, or the exhaustion that has been running through my system for the past few months. To make things uglier, I am not well as of the moment and I have been dreading it since Thursday! And let’s not forget the hurricane news that has been circulating around here. I don’t know how bad it’ll be but I hope it doesn’t ruin our Monday off. Cause that would suck big time knowing that in 4 months time, I’ll be in Manila again.

Anywaysy, here’s what transpired last weekend. We drove to New Jersey to relax and see more of what’s in the City 🙂

Spent our Sunday in Smithville! 🙂

The cutesy little houses and the entire vibe of the place made me feel like I was a smurf!! :)))

We were fortunate cause there was a car show that weekend! More attraction for us! 🙂

Rode the train with the kiddos!!! ❤ 🙂

Best part of our New Jersey trip! 🙂 Meeting these two cutie girls! 🙂 Erika and Julia!! ❤

Had lunch in the Historic Smithville Inn

The whole place is so rich in history and beauty. I love how they kept the original facade of almost the entire house and shared it to everyone to see.

We were seated in a private room, beautifully decorated and lovely arranged. I love the story behind the room, it made me realize how blessed I am to be able to go to this place. and be with a family who has treated me so well since day 1.

Went go -karting before cake time!!! 🙂 ❤

Trying not to suck at this,

10.11.12: Monday on a Thursday

I can’t remember the last time I have been this disappointed. I hate the feeling of not having enough time, the feeling of wasting time..or chances. Or just merely not live each day to the fullest. We only live once, YES. However, some circumstances make it difficult for us to do more important things. I have lived in a world where family is a priority; where a week is not complete without going to church;  where money is just a source of income and not something that would defy life; and life is celebrated everyday. This may come shallow or trivial, but it really is just frustrating when you know you’ve worked hard for something that will make someone..or people happy.  I know I have earned it..we earned it. We waited for almost a month and now, that weekend is nothing but a plan that never happened. I really wish and pray that I would have the chance to celebrate next year. Cause this year just screwed us..big time.

10.08.12: Celebrating Mom’s Birthday

Something that transpired last week made me realize how eager I want to some things to just work out and make everything that I have been aspiring for happen in God’s time. Knowing that I have been missing a lot of joyful moment is really pulling me down in a sad pit. Missing my family’s birthdays is one thing, but not being there on that special someone’s birthday is a different story..knowing that we are just in the same place at the same time and the same same same..I don’t know. It just really devastates me. And I hope there is still another year for us to celebrate..but all is left uncertain until the end of the year..maybe.

Anywaysy, God has turned around everything and blessed me with a beautiful Monday off to celebrate two birthdays in a lovely place at an awesome event! If there’s one thing that my Mom and I likes to do..it is to attend events that are related to shopping and food. So this was a perfect way for me to celebrate her birthday! 🙂

Monday off in Washington, DC! 🙂

Got super excited when I saw these food trucks!!

Some of the foods that we tried:

Spicy Beef x Vegetable Curry Patty

Tastes better with the jalapeno salsa! 🙂

Our favorite food truck 🙂

Because of this witty and kind American owner and his Fil-Aussie wife (who is very pretty)

..and of course because of this yummy lamb sausage!

My brother Remo will go crazy about their cookies!!!!

Gooey goodness inside!!! These cookies were AMAZING!!!!

Lamb taco..YUM!

Had thai food) no photos..there were a lot of thai food stalls!! Most people seems to be crazy about their food these days…

It was a super duper cold day for me! Went to Barnes and Noble to warm up for a bit and then headed to H&M and F21 to go shopping! This is why I love DC. It’s like my mini New York, only that it’s not crowded 🙂

Bluer than BLUE

10.01.12: Hello, October!

I love celebrating the first and last day of each month. There’s something about looking forward to a joyful month or knowing that you have spent each day awesomely in every possible way in a month. My absence here on my blog has eaten up my sanity. I feel like this page deserves more and it’s such a shame that I do not have enough time to juggle everything that I want to do. Needless to say, I am still grateful for all of the bigger things that has happened to me.

This has got to be one of those days where in I felt like a Queen cause I was being treated like a Princess. I know I doesn’t make sense much, but when you have these amazing people around you, you just can’t help but be overwhelmed and be speechless.

Finally tried Pei Wei!

It is owned by PF Chang’s China Bistro.

This is like the faster version of PF Chang’s. If you want Asian Food fast, this is definitely the place to go!

My spicy korean chicken! 🙂 YUM

Touch screen vendo machine! AWESOME!

Oh really? LOL

7 down, 5 to go <3

It’s that time of the month again.I post random heaps from the previous month and cap off another month with an entry. September has been extra overwhelming. I felt like it went by rapidly unlike any other month, or was I just too preoccupied with exciting shenanigans the whole month?

2 random Saturdays last September 🙂

Tooloulou for our Saturdate!  🙂

Shrimp Pesto Pizza. YUM!!!!!

Catfish fingers

One Saturday night in Hightopps! Went there with ze girls after work 🙂

My shoes remind me of a poodle. Pretty evident I think.

Therefore,I was a poodle that night. Haha

But you know what I really think? I suck at describing my outfits. I’m not a fashion blogger. I love fashion and I’m a slave for style. I feel like I don’t make the cut for that, you know? So I’ll just continue posting and not expect anything more from myself when it comes to blabbing about what I wore. Who knows? Maybe one of these days I’ll get to type more than 5 sentences about my outfit! :))

My weird face…. :))

Hoping for the best,

R ❤ xx
